NNENNA: The Clothesline Muse

Nnenna Freelon, "The Clothesline Muse"

"The Clothesline Muse" is a multi-discipline
theater project of dance, live music, spoken word,
interview text, video and interactive art. The
clothesline is the metaphor for our community
lifeline and the relationships and stories it holds.
The performance transforms the clothesline into
an art-filled visionary place of stories, song and
dance. "The Clothesline Muse" weaves the history
of female and family, childhood and adulthood, birth
and death through the rich history of generations
of mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers that
span generations. The cast includes six dancers, a
percussionist, and Nnenna Freelon as “The Muse.”

"The Clothesline Muse" theatrical project plans its first tour for 2015-16.
